The Birth of Jesus
1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.
4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.

When Should I Replace My Tires?

A driver's ability to control their vehicle depends on the traction between their tires and the road. Tires don't require tread designs or even much tread depth to deliver traction on dry roads. A practical example of this is the racing slicks used on stock cars and open-wheel racers that provide traction at over 200 mph. However, tires do require tread designs to generate traction on wet, slushy and snow-covered roads. Liquids can't be compressed and require time and energy to move them out of the way as our tires drive through them. Those same racing slicks would lose traction at amazingly slow speeds anytime something prevented them from maintaining contact with the road.
So a tread design is necessary to direct water and slush from between the tire and the road, as well as provide edges that bite into snow. But that's only half the equation; because we've seen that tread depth also contributes to how well the design does its job.
The air our tires encounter at highway speeds can easily be compressed and moved out of the way with relative ease. However the same isn't true of liquids. When water collects on the road surface during rainstorms, the water depth, vehicle speed and vehicle weight, as well as the tires' tread designs and tread depths collectively determine when and if the tires will be forced to hydroplane and how quickly they can stop a vehicle.
A typical passenger car tire has about twenty square inches of total footprint surface and begins with about 1/3" of tread depth. While the majority of the footprint surface is made up of the rubber that grips the road, the remainder is the void of the grooves that make up the tread design. (See Photo #2)" [Continue reading...]

Co-owners Mike D’Andrea and Mark Meadows of Miracle Motor Mart were named the Quality Dealer of the Year for 2012 by the Ohio Independent Auto Dealer Association (OIADA). Miracle Motor Mart was selected Quality Dealer of the Year from the final three finalists at the Association’s annual awards banquet on Saturday December 3, 2011.
As Quality Dealer of the Year, D’Andrea and Meadows will go on to represent OIADA and the state of Ohio at the National Independent Auto Dealer Association’s June convention in June at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Some of the criteria that distinguish the candidates nominated for this prestigious award are as follows:
v Demonstrate a willingness to be helpful in performing Association duties when asked by the various state association leaders.
v Display a willingness to serve the Used Car Industry through helpful service to fellow dealers by sharing his/her knowledge, talent and experience.
v Willingness to make a commitment to attend the annual State and/or National Convention & Expo’s.
v Have the necessary credentials to compete at the national level, since he/she will be representing their state association in the national competition.
v Candidate should demonstrate a willingness to give back to the community that has supported his business throughout the years.
v Have a sanction free record with the BMV and/or state licensing agency - has no outstanding or unanswered complaints with the Better Business Bureau or Consumer Affairs division of the state Attorney General office.
v Candidate’s dealership operation should reflect pride of ownership and offer an attractive appearance of lot and inventory.
v Candidates should have an outstanding reputation for good customer relations and always handle customer complaints in an expedient manner.
v Operate his/her business in accordance with the NIADA Code of Ethics.
v His/Her dealership operation should be a credit to the independent dealers of their respective state and the Used Car Industry.
Miracle Motor Mart is a Columbus-area auto dealership with two locations specializing in pre-owned vehicles. Mike D’Andrea opened Miracle Motor Mart in 1988; Meadows joined as co-owner in 2007. In 2010 the team added a second East Main Street location, equipped with a certified parts and service department, to their original Morse Road location.
D’Andrea, Meadows and their team received the award with gratitude, knowing how many other dealers were nominated for the award. “It is humbling to know that out more than 5,000 dealers in Ohio we have been chosen as one of the best,” said D’Andrea. “It is a testament to the hard work of all the people we surround ourselves with everyday.”
In a statement to his employees and customers, D’Andrea went on to thank the people who have supported Miracle Motor Mart along the way. “I am grateful for all of the people, past and present, who spent many years helping us build a solid foundation”. D’Andrea closed his statement by explaining that while he is pleased with the success of the moment, he looks toward the future with equal enthusiasm. “We are thankful and proud of all of our co-workers, employees and customers for the trust and support over the past 23 years,” D’Andrea said. “We hope that the next 23 years are as enjoyable as the first.”
